The North West Golden Retriever Club has members across the North West as far north as Cumbria and Telford in the south. Our members are mainly show people but since we started the Rehoming and Rescue Charity we have encouraged more pet owners to join. We hold 3 dog shows annually one a Championship Show in April ,an open show in October and the Companion Dog show in the Summer. We held a grooming and first aid course for pet owners this spring and next year we will be having a sponsored Walk to raise funds. We try to run courses that everyone is interested in and are always open to members ideas. The Rescue Trust Charity started 4 years ago provides home to home rehoming for Golden Retrievers . All dogs are collected and delivered to their new homes, and we have a vetted list of people looking for Goldens. If the Goldens are elderly we find permanent foster homes where the charity pays all the costs and this way older people are able to have a pet without the financial worries that they usually incur. We raise funds all year by various methods, but the people that go round the North West Agricultural Shows with a tombola are by far and away the most successful.
