Small Furries /Exotics

Small Furries /Exotics needing a home

Ant & Dec (RSPCA Cheshire)

Meet our very handsome boys Ant and Dec! Any and Dec are approximately 3-4 years old and are large lops.

They came into our care along with several other rabbits after their owner died and remaining family were unable to look after them. Ant and Dec were living in accommodation which was far to small for them, they were also being fed a completely unsuitable muesli food diet. As a result of the wrong diet and very little exercise they are both abit on the chunky side! Plenty of hay is really important for all rabbits to keep their teeth and digestive systems healthy.

Ant and Dec are a little shy at the moment but given time a reassurance they will make fantastic bunnies.

They have been neutered vaccinated and microchipped and are looking for a new home together.

Please contact Julia at RSPCA Cheshire (based in Altrincham) on – 0161 286 2503 for more information.

Rose (RSPCA Cheshire)

This lovely lady is Rose. Rose is a 5 year old dwarf lop. Rose came into our care along with several other bunnies after their owner died, the family couldn’t cope and the rabbits were all living in small dirty unsuitable conditions.

Rose is a sweet gentle girl, she’s a little nervous with all the change but is settling in well and loves her new healthier diet! Rose is quite well litter trained aswell!

Rose has been neutered vaccinated and microchipped and is looking for a home where she will be bonded with a neutered male rabbit.

Please contact Julia at RSPCA Cheshire (based in Altrincham) on – 0161 286 2503 for more information.

Willow (RSPCA Cheshire)

Meet Willow, our very fluffy (but still to become fluffier!) Angora boy. He hasn’t had the best start to life, so now he’s looking for a home where he can be spoiled and pampered like he deserves to be – and he definitely wants to be a house bunny.

Willow is around 5 or 6 years old, and finds people a bit scary at the moment, particularly as his sight is limited so he doesn’t see you coming until the last minute and gets rather startled! He’s looking for an experienced owner who understand that he will take time to trust people, and also who will help him learn to enjoy being groomed, as this will be a necessary part of his daily routine, especially once his fur is fully grown back.

Willow adores mealtimes, and gets very excited at the mere rustle of a food bag – despite his timid nature he loves his greens so much that he’ll happily eat them from your hand. He’s also very house proud and likes rearranging the furniture – it’s not unusual to go in and check on him only to find everything upended in his cage – so he’s definitely marriage material and would like to be bonded with a gentle female bunny.

Willow has been chipped and neutered and will be fully vaccinated before adoption.

Please contact Julia at RSPCA Cheshire (based in Altrincham) on – 0161 286 2503 for more information.

Roly, Poly, Pudding and Pie (RSPCA Cheshire)

Meet our lovely ladies Roly, Poly, Pudding and Pie. These lovely girls came into our care from a house where 56 bunnies were living! All 56 came into Rspca care and these 4 girls made their way to our branch.

All 4 girls physically look a little scruffy at the moment. Each has bite marks on their ears and nipped noses, their fur is also thinning in places. This is all due to living in overcrowded conditions. They have all been given a clean bill of health from the exotics specialist vets we use, Poly (the grey girl) has a scar on her right eye causing her eye to look abit cloudy but ir doesnt cause her any problems. All 4 girls have now been neutered vaccinated and microchipped (they will all have their vhd2 vaccine shortly aswell)

All 4 girls are really doing well with their litter training.

Considering the life they have had upto now, they’re fairly confident friendly bunnies.

They can be rehomed in pairs or groups or to be bonded with a neutered male rabbit.

Please contact Julia at RSPCA Cheshire (based in Altrincham) on – 0161 286 2503 for more information.

Aspen & Ember (RSPCA Cheshire)

Meet our gorgeous girl’s Aspen and Ember. This pair came into our care when they were about 6-8 weeks old, they were found abandoned in someone’s garden.

Aspen and Ember are now nearly 6 months old and are ready to find their forever home. They have been neutered (due to complications during surgery Ember still has 1 ovary remaining but she cannot get pregnant) vaccinated against myxomatosis vhd1 and vhd2 and microchipped.
Aspen and Ember are really friendly bunnies, they’re nosey and inquisitive and run up to you for a fuss and a stroke. Like most bunnies they’re not overly keen on being picked up but if you get down to their level they love the attention.

Please contact Julia at RSPCA Cheshire (based in Altrincham) on – 0161 286 2503 for more information.

Caitlin, Iris, Gypsy & Jesse (RSPCA Cheshire)

We have a lovely little family of female multimammate mice available for adoption. Caitlin, Iris, Gypsy and Jesse came into our care from a huge multi animal case, Gypsy and Jesse along with their 3 brothers (who have now been rehomed) were just a few days old.
Caitlin is mum to Gypsy and Jesse and Iris is their auntie.  This little family adore each other and they are very entertaining to watch.
Multimammate mice are well known for chewing so they will need to be housed in a large glass tank with a secure wire mesh lid with lots of wooden toys for them to chew and play on.
Caitlin Iris Gypsy and Jesse are looking for a new home ideally together but we may consider rehoming them in pairs.

Bradley (RSPCA Cheshire)

This handsome boy is Bradley. Bradley is a young adult neutered male chinchilla.
Poor Bradley was found dumped in some bushes, he was reported to inspectors and made his way into our care for rehoming.
Bradley is a nosey friendly boy, he’s not shy at all but does get worried by change. He loves time out of his cage exploring.  His favourite food at the moment is timothy hay he just loves it!
Bradley is looking for a home where he will have a large spacious cage with plenty of toys to keep him active, he is a little on the chunky side so he could do with plenty of exercise and a healthy diet including plenty of hay.
Bradley has been neutered, he is looking for a home where he will be bonded with a female chinchilla or 2 as he is very lonely on his own.

Nancy (RSPCA Cheshire)

Meet our lovely girl Nancy who has made amazing progress since coming into our care. Due to her traumatic early life experiences, she was extremely scared when she came into the care of RSPCA and spent most of her days screaming and attacking items that were added to her cage. However, her foster carer has lovingly cared for and socialised Nancy over the past few weeks. Nancy is now a very sweet girl who is not scared of people, and will come up to greet you when you open her door. However, she is still fearful of loud noises and unpredictable, fast movements. Nevertheless, she loves coming out to explore new scents and textures for short periods of time, and also thoroughly enjoys the occasional treat – particularly Monkey Nuts!

Nancy is looking for a new home without children, preferably with someone who has experience in caring for hamsters. Importantly, her new owner has to be patient, gentle, and understanding of Nancy’s sometimes challenging behaviour. In return, you will get a lovely hamster who is extremely social, curious, and a great little companion!

Nancy will need a large spacious cage, minimum size 80cmx50cm with tunnels and toys to keep her occupied.

Vera (RSPCA Cheshire)

This lovely lady is Vera. She is a medium sized up eared bunny she possibly has  a bit of Lionhead in her, we have estimated her age at approximately a year old.
Vera came into our care in a bit of a sorry state, she was very skinny and had lots of fur missing. She was found as a stray so we have no idea what had happened to her.
Vera was very scared when she first came into our care but she is now so much more confident, she can be a little shy of people she doesn’t know but food soon wins her around! She is fantastically litter trained. Vera is a very intelligent bunny and loves lots of toys to play with and keep her occupied.
Vera has been neutered vaccinated and microchipped and is looking to be bonded with a neutered male rabbit.

Flora & Fleur (RSPCA Cheshire)

Meet our lovely ladies Flora and Fleur. Flora and Fleur are small to medium sized up eared cross breed bunnies. Fleur is approximately 10 months old and Flora is approximately 5 months old.
They were being kept in tiny dirty conditions completely unsuitable for any animal. Both bunnies were quite skinny when they first came into our care.
Both bunnies have been health checked and are now fully vaccinated, Fleur has been neutered and microchipped, Flora will be neutered and microchipped before she is rehomed and once she gains a little more weight.
Flora and Fleur havent had the best start in life so were understandably both very timid when they arrived with us, they are now slowly growing in confidence especially when they know food is on offer! Degus (RSPCA Cheshire)

Mr Fredrickson and his sons, Dug and Kevin, came into our care back in August 2016 when Dug and Kevin were only three weeks old. They have been handled daily, and as a result are very friendly and curious. Like most degus, they don’t particularly like being picked up – but will tolerate it once they have gotten to know you. However, they prefer to choose when to approach you, and will willingly climb up on your outstretched hand. Mr Fredrickson is particularly friendly, and often climbs up to sit on my shoulder.

Mr Fredrickson is the dominant degu in the group, and tends to get the first piece of any treats on offer. He is not afraid to tell his sons off if they are getting too pushy, but is also very affectionate towards them and will snuggle up to them at night.

Kevin sometimes tries to challenge Mr Fredrickson for the dominant role, but gives up pretty quickly and has so far not been successful. Kevin is the one who looks out for the others, and will warn them by making a high-pitched squeak if he thinks there’s a potential threat close by (most likely a hoover).

Dug is the shy one and will stay out of the way when Kevin and Mr Fredrickson have an argument. He loves look-out points, and will often climb up on the bookshelf when they are let out in the room. The only problem is that he has not figured out how to get back down, so will need a helping hand to safely get back on the ground.

The boys love nibbling on wood, so it’s important that they have plenty of safe wood in their cage and definitely no plastic! They love coming out for a run around the room, but it’s important to make sure there are no cracks for them to hide in as they will find them and then only come out if bribed with their favourite treat.

Mr Fredrickson, Dug and Kevin are looking for their forever home together.

Cream Dwarf Hamster  (Little Animals Adoption)

This little girl is a cream dwarf hamster (Campbell’s or hybrid, we aren’t too sure) who is six months old, who was part of an unexpected litter. She’s very friendly and inquisitive, and incredibly gentle and calm. She absolutely loves to burrow, she loves her wheel and really enjoys coming out of her cage. She would be fine with children but because she is a dwarf hamster she would be better for older children and teenagers as she is small and delicate. We have struggled to find a home for her because of her lovely red eyes, which is such a shame because she is one of the loveliest hamsters I have had the pleasure of looking after.

The adoption fee is £20, which includes her cage, her favourite toys, a bag of food and an information booklet.
Small animals can be reserved for £3, which will be deducted from the fee.
We take back hamsters at any time for a partial refund because we understand that circumstances can change.
